The Houses of Parliament has released their official Toby jug of the Prime Minister – leaving collectors gobsmacked.

The ‘limited edition’ Keir Starmer look-alike mug has drawn some interesting comparisons, with people saying it seems more like TV pundit Piers Morgan.

The Houses of Parliament’s gift shop has been selling ceramic Toby jugs for years, styling them off famous political leaders.

Officials have chosen the Easter recess as the perfect moment to unveil their latest jug recognising the PM, but the end result is not what people were expecting.

The Starmer mug, with a hole in its head, is available as a limited edition gift, with only 1,500 made worldwide.

The priceless item will cost collectors and Starmer fans £35.

The 11cm highjug is made in Stoke-on-Trent by pottery manufacturer Bairstow Manor.

Each one is handmade and hand-painted by talented clay modellers.

But whether these pottery whizzes have created a believable likeness of the Prime Minister is under contention.

Many think the ‘howler’ looks more like a few other famous faces.

Sky News journalist Sam Coates said the limited edition piece resembled former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan.

Fiona-Natasha Symss said the face looked like Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer had had a baby.

If you want the PM’s jug sitting on your kitchen counter, you might have to be quick – Parliament’s Toby jugs have a history of selling out.

In fact the shop’s Tony Blair, Winston Churchill, Clement Attlee, and Boris Johnson vessels are all out of stock.

The least popular mugs are also telling. You can still head over to the shop and buy a Rishi Sunak mug, less than a year after he left office following the general election.

While the 1,500 Liz Truss mugs are all sitting in people’s homes, Theresa May mugs are still available.

What else can you buy in the Houses of Parliament shop?

The Houses of Parliament online gift shift has a cracking array of unusual gifts and mementos of political life.

The most recent addition, alongside the PM’s Toby jug, is a plush toy modelled on Attlee, the beloved pet of the Speaker of the House of Commons.

The soft toy cat will cost you £25.

The Houses of Parliament’s most expensive items are actual tiles from the Palace of Westminister.

For £300, you can take home a 30cm x 12cm encaustic tile.

These panels have been removed as part of a nine-yearconservation and restorationproject and are delivered in a satin-lined gift box.

The shop also sells personalised notepads, bottle openers and book marks.

One of the more popular items is a House of Lords dressing gown for £65.

The cotton bath robe features a gold House of Lords embroidered logo and has just gone out of stock.
